കൊച്ചി : ക്രൂയിസ് ടെര്മിനല് നിര്മ്മിക്കാന് കൊച്ചി തുറമുഖ ട്രസ്റ്റിന് പത്ത് ഏക്കര് സ്ഥലം സര്ക്കാര് നല്കുമെന്ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി വി.ഡി. സതീശന് പറഞ്ഞു. ദുബായ് ആസ്ഥാനമായുള്ള എക്സോണിക് ഷിപ്പിങ് കമ്പനിയുടെ കൊച്ചി ഓഫീസിന്റെയും ലോജിസ്റ്റിക്സ് ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ടിന്റെയും ഉദ്ഘാടനം നിര്വ്വഹിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം. വിഴിഞ്ഞത്ത് കയറ്റുമതി ഇറക്കുമതി പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങള് ആരംഭിക്കുന്നതോടെ സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ സുഗന്ധവ്യഞ്ജനങ്ങള് ഉള്പ്പെടെയുള്ള ഉല്പ്പന്നങ്ങള്ക്ക് അന്താരാഷ്ട്രവിപണി കണ്ടെത്താന് സഹായകരമാകും. ഓഷ്യനേറിയം അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര മാരിടൈം മ്യൂസിയം, ഫിലിം സിറ്റി എന്നീ പദ്ധതികള് കൊച്ചിയിലെ ടൂറിസം വളര്ച്ചയ്ക്ക് വഴിതെളിക്കുമെന്നും മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. ഹൈബി ഈഡൻ എം.പി., ടി.ജെ. വിനോദ് എം.എൽ.എ., മുൻ എം.എൽ.എ. ജോസഫ് വാഴയ്ക്കൻ, കൗണ്സിലര് ബിന്ദു വിജു, എക്സോണിക് എം. ഡി. മാരായ ടിന്റു ബേബി, ജോഷി ജോൺ തുടങ്ങിയവർ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.
ഇന്ത്യയിൽ പ്രവർത്തനം വ്യാപിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിൻ്റെ ഭാഗമായിട്ടാണ് കൊച്ചിയിലെ ഓഫീസ് തുടങ്ങുന്നതെന്ന് എക്സോണിക് മാനേജിംഗ് ഡയറക്ടർമാരായ ടിൻ്റു ബേബിയും ജോഷി ജോണും പറഞ്ഞു. വികസനത്തിൻ്റെ ഭാഗമായി മൂന്ന് വർഷത്തിനുള്ളിൽ വിഴിഞ്ഞത്തും ഓഫീസ് ആരംഭിക്കും. കേരളത്തിൽ 500 പേർക്ക് നേരിട്ടും 2000 പേർക്ക് പരോക്ഷമായും തൊഴിൽ നൽകാൻ കഴിയുമെന്ന് അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
കേരളത്തിൽ നിന്നും യൂറോപ്പ്, യു.എസ്.എ, മിഡിൽ ഈസ്റ്റ് എന്നിവടങ്ങളിലേക്ക് ചരക്കുകൾ അയച്ചു തുടങ്ങും. കൂടാതെ വിവിധ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ ഇറക്കുമതിയും ഉണ്ടാകും. ഷിപ്പിംഗ് മേഖലയിൽ പരിചയ സമ്പന്നരായ തൊഴിലാളികളുടെ ലഭ്യത കുറവായതിനാലാണ് കൊച്ചിയിൽ ലോജിസ്റ്റിക്ക് ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റൂട്ട് ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്. ആറു മാസം മുതല് ഒരു വർഷം വരെ നീളുന്ന കോഴ്സുകളാണ് ഇവിടെ ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്.
