Virtual reality app developer iLuZia Lab won the 2024-25 National Award for Educational E-Content Creation for Immersive Science Education, topping entries from across 22 states and five union territories of the country.
The six-year-old startup at Government Cyberpark here finished first in the All India Children’s Educational e-Content Competition (AICEeCC) at the Meghalaya capital of Shillong in the Northeast.
iLuZia founder-CEO Noufal P received the prize at the three-day event by the Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET) and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), celebrates the creativity and innovation of e-content creators for enhancing children’s education.
Established under the Centre’s Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade and Kerala Startup Mission, iLuZia earned notice for its developing a virtual practical lab for science students of high-school level. The app enables easy grasp of the subject and memorizing the details by facilitating any number of virtual experiments ahead of physically entering the lab at school, Noufal pointed out.
As for winning the national award this time, iLuZia underwent first-round scrutiny by a special jury, following which the company gave a presentation and project demonstration over three days, the CEO revealed. “The national award jury particularly appreciated our virtual lab content design and concept, which has been a game-changer in immersive science education,” he added.
ILuZia has been the country’s pioneer in initiating a metaverse classroom and conceiving the first-ever AI-VR language training lab. Beyond its services in augmented reality and virtual reality, iLuZia is currently developing another virtual platform for global students. This innovative platform aims to break down educational barriers, enabling students worldwide to learn any subject from renowned teachers, leveraging artificial intelligence and mixed reality,” Noufal added.
