‘No Skirts’ Raises Eyebrows: Modi’s Culture Minister Retracts Statement
New Delhi: Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State for Culture in Narendra Mody’s Government, has retracted his advice to women tourists not to wear skirts after he realised that it raised eybrows.
The minister had, on Sunday, told the media that the government would issue an advisory to suggesting that foreigners visiting India asking them to avoid wearing skirts and going out alone at night.
