HYDERABAD:
The Global Entrepreneurship Summit held here from November 28-30, 2017 also hosted “Indian Crafts: Traditions and Expressions”, an exhibition by Serendipity Arts Trust, which also hosts the highly-regarded Serendipity Arts Festival in Goa. The exhibition was held at the Novotel Convention Centre.
Originally curated by Dr. Jyotindra Jain and Manjari Nirula for the Serendipity Arts Festival 2016, this craft exhibition will also form part of the second edition of Serendipity Arts Festival, which gets underway in Goa from December 15-22 2017. The focus of the exhibition was on various craft forms from across India. It highlighted the Indian crafts scene by showcasing works of artisans like Vivekananda Bagchi, Sribhas Supakar, Jai Prakash Misra and Ram Soni, among others.
Sunil Kant Munjal, Chief Patron and Founder of Serendipity Arts Trust, said, “The custodianship of a sustainable platform for contemporary art in India is central to Serendipity Arts Trust’s vision. India’s cultural wealth is dazzling. The country is known for the abundance of its arts and crafts. Less well known is that over 60 million Indians are from very diverse tribal communities. We are working to promote a national consensus on investment in contemporary art infrastructure and to broaden public access to art. Platforms like Global Entrepreneurship Summit helps showcase the best of artisans before an appreciative and discerning audience.”
On having Serendipity as a part of GES, Amitabh Kant, CEO, Niti Ayog said, We are overwhelmed that Serendipity Arts Trust participate GES. We feel that Serendipity Arts Trust is carving a unique way to highlight and create awareness for art. We also deeply appreciate the Serendipity Arts Trust’s work in reviving dying art forms in India.”
