MUMBAI:
Sathya Dhulipala – an ACCA member since January 2020 and currently a senior consultant of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India, LLP – has been awarded ACCA’s Advocacy Award 2021 for Eurasia and New Markets.
Sathya joins five other regional winners, who have all met the advocacy criteria aligned to ACCA’s values of integrity, innovation and inclusion, and using the benefit of their experience to help the next generation of finance professionals flourish and progress.
Sathya has been an active member of the core team for ACCA’s Financial Literacy initiative in India. This program was launched with a vision to impart financial literacy to the upcoming generation from a young age and ensure that they fully understand the importance of finance in their day-to-day life.
As a part of this programme, the core team connected on a weekly basis to discuss and provide input on the content prepared during the week by the core members.
Speaking of her award, Sathya says: ‘I am thrilled and honoured to receive such an award. I was always inspired by Martin Luther King Jr and his stance on helping others and this has continued to define my purpose in life.
A year ago, a message calling for volunteer members to work on developing content for a financial literacy program was put up on the ACCA group. I immediately jumped at the opportunity.
‘Having joined ACCA’s Skills Academy, I took an active interest in reaching out to college students pursuing ACCA and mentoring them. It’s been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I look forward to seeing these bright minds joining our membership soon as fellow members.’
ACCA’s market director, Magda Krupa-Hernandez,says: ‘Sathya shines as our Advocate of the Year. She is a young member who has been supportive in many advocacy projects as well as has been actively contributing though her own initiatives.
‘She was one of the key members of the Financial Literacy Project for children which was developed by ACCA India members. Her innovative ideas, mastery over technical content, passion for the cause and excellent communication skills was vital for the success of the programme.
‘She also mentored our students through the Skill Academy where we received great feedback from the students and affiliates. One of the mentees was also able to receive job after being coached by her on interview skills.’
