Samaritan Heart Project Launched by Catholica Aboon Mor Baselious Thomas I

Catholica Aboon Mor Baselious Thomas I launched the “Snehasparsham 2017” initiated by Kizhakkambalam based Samaritan Hospital.
The hospital, credited with performing the first open heart surgery in the state in early 1970s, also launched a scheme to perform 100 open heart surgeries for people belonging to economically weaker sections during the year.
The expenditure for the two schemes will be borne by the hospital through donations from well wishers and the corporate social responsibility fund of the hospital. Patients lacking resources for undertaking an open heart surgery can approach the hospital with relevant medical records, including results of angiogram test, said the hospital authorities.
The selection will be made by a panel of eminent persons. Persons from any part of the state can approach the hospital for free care. Innocent, MP inaugurated free heart check up camp as part of Snehasparsham.
