‘Dr Ayu- Reach Ayurveda to each’, a film by Dr Sharath from Haveri, Karnataka , bagged the first prize in the Short Film Festival conducted as part of the 9th World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo, which concluded here today.
The second prize went to ‘New 5 G, A threat to New Era’ by Dr Vikas Chavan and the third prize was shared by ‘E-motions’ made by Dr Sindhur Nagaraj from Bangalore and ‘A scientific and singing transformation of a woman’ by Vaidya Hetal Bariya from Gujarat.
The first prize comprises Rs 50,000, citation and memento. Winners of the second and third prizes received Rs 40,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively.
The final selection was made by a 7-member jury from 15 films qualified for the final screening from 25 shortlisted movies out of 52 entries, said Prof Mamta Bhaghwat, Chairperson of the Ayurveda Short Film Festival committee of the World Ayurveda Congress.
There were entries from all parts of the country and all the films highlighted how Ayurveda as a holistic wellness system helps lead a healthy life, Prof Bhagawat said.
Dr Sarath, whose film lifted the first prize, is an Ayurveda professional and short film maker. He manages ‘Apatha Ayurveda—My own Ayurveda’ centre.
The second prize winning film focuses on five wrongs (5Gs) humans are prone to in their lifestyles, including selection of the wrong system of medicine instead of Ayurveda.
E-motions, which shared the third prize, is about various intestinal problems that affect the physical and mental health and how they could be addressed through Ayurveda. ‘A scientific and singing transformation of a woman’, highlights what music can figure in leading a healthy life.
The final selections were made by five members of the jury from the films shortlisted by other members of the jury panel. The screening hall at ESG Auditorium 2 was jam packed with viewers.
