Muthoot M George Foundation, the CSR wing of Muthoot Finance Ltd, today felicitated talented students with scholarships to pursue their professional education. Scholarship will be provided to students studying MBBS, Engineering, BSc Nursing and B.Com. Hibi Eden MP inaugurated, Muthoot M George Higher Education Scholarship 2019-‘20 Program.
Hibi Eden said the Muthoot Group’s funding for education plays a significant role in shaping a talented generation. Hibi Eden added that the use of the Corporate Social Responsibility Fund should be placed directly in the hands of those entitled to it. Here Muthoot Group stands as an example in this regard.Those talents who make natural inventions in the absence of formal education also benefits from this CSR Fund.
Dr. P G Sankaran, Pro Vice Chancellor, CUSAT distributed the scholarship to the deserving students. George Alexander Muthoot, Managing Director and George M George, Executive Director, The Muthoot Group presided over the function. The event was held today in Kochi in the august presence of Dr. T V Ravi, President-IMA Kochi, Prof. Shine Antony, Dean Training & Development,St. Albert’s College, George Varghese, Director, MITS, Dr. Chikku Abraham, Vice Principal, MITS and Babu John Malayil, Deputy General Manager, Corporate Communications.
George M Alexander said, “We bestowed scholarships to 40 deserving achievers to nurture and encourage the young minds. We remain duly committed to the community with various corporate social responsibilities in the near future.” Once the candidate is selected he/she will be entitled to the scholarship every year till the completion of the course, subject to the relevant terms and conditions.
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of their qualifying examination (+2 examination). Students who secure 80% or equivalent grading in the qualifying examination and whose family income is below Rs. 2 lakhs per annum are eligible for applying the scholarship. The candidate should also qualify in the relevant Entrance Examination and obtain admission in a recognized educational institution.

Selected 10 candidates from each category for scholarship, a total of 40 candidates
