THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Responding to the Kerala Government’s Vaccine Challenge, Thiruvananthapuram Regional Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd (TRCMPU) of Milma today donated Rs 15 lakh to the free COVID-19 vaccination programme rolled out across the state.
The cheque for the amount was presented to Minister for Dairy Development K Raju at a function held at the Government Secretariat here.
V P Suresh Kumar, Regional Union Administrator, presided over the function and Milma Managing Director R Suresh Kumar offered felicitations.
On the occasion, V P Suresh Kumar urged the government to make arrangements for providing COVID -19 vaccine to employees of Milma and its regional unions on a priority basis as their task of maintaining uninterrupted supply of milk and other dairy products has been declared as an Essential Service.
Earlier this week, Milma had taken up the demand with the Government by writing to Raju and Health and Family Welfare Minister K K Shailaja.
Director of Department of Dairy Development Mini Ravindradas delivered the key-note address. Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF) General Manager P Gopalakrishnan, Senior Manager M J Wilson and Dairy Engineer S Kunjumon also addressed the function.
Officials of Ksheera Bhavan, Dairy Development Department and members of the Minister’s office attended the ceremony.
