London Aikyavedi, the organisation of NRI’s in United Kingdom, announced the social service initiatives to the tune of Rs five crore in Kerala.
Aikyavedi chairman M Mahesh Kumar and president Jayaprakash Panicker said that the education for

the children from financially backward families, health and housing will be given priority. These welfare activities are announced as part of the third anniversary celebrations of Aikyavedi which will be held at South Croydon, London.
They also pointed that the organisation will take care of the education of the children who died or seriously injured in Paravoor Puttingal Temple fire accident at Kollam. Education will be given from one to 10th standard.
Ten wards in Paravoor, where the temple is situated will be selected for giving the education benefits. The treatment of the children from these wards will also be taken up by Aikyavedi.
It has also been decided to provide education to the children from the financially backward families from five selected wards in Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram districts. Ganeshotsava Trust based in Thiruvananthapuram has been entrusted to select the beneficiaries.
London Aikyavedi has around 1,000 members from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Karnataka and also from Sri Lanka. Aikyavedi has already started a helpline in wake of several people being cheated in name of higher studies and employment at UK.
