THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Train No.16319/16320 Kochuveli – Banaswadi – Kochuveli Humsafar Express has been introduced today (20.10.2018).
K.J. Alphons, Union Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge) flagged off the inaugural special train No.06319 Kochuveli – Banaswadi Humsafar express at Kochuveli railway station at 11.00 hrs. today (20.10.2018) in the august presence of Kadakampally Surendran, Minister for Co-operation, Tourism and Devaswom, Govt. of Kerala. O. Rajagopal, MLA and A. Sampath, MP graced the occasion by their presence. Hima Siji, Ward Councillor of Karikkakom was also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, K J Alphons, Union Minister of State for Tourism, appreciated and thanked the railway administration for this initiative of introducing Humsafar express between Kochuveli-Banaswadi. This train will fulfil the transport requirements of people travelling between Thiruvananthapuram and Bangalore cities. The inaugural special train was well patronised.
Shirish Kumar Sinha, Divisional Railway Manager, Thiruvananthapuram Division welcomed the gathering. Senior railway officials and staff participated in the function. A large number of passengers, public and rail enthusiasts were also present on the occasion. P. Jayakumar, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Thiruvananthapuram Division gave the Vote of Thanks.
Regular services of Kochuveli – Banaswadi Humsafar Express
Train No.16319 Kochuveli – Banaswadi Humsafar express (Bi-weekly) will leave Kochuveli at 18.05 hrs. on Thursdays and Saturdays to reach Banaswadi at 10.45 hrs. on Fridays and Sundays.
Enroute, the train will stop at Kollam (18.58 / 19.00 hrs.), Chengannur (19.53/19.55), Kottayam (21.13/21.15), Ernakulam Town (22.33/22.35), Thrisur (23.48/23.50), Palakkad (00.57/01.00), Coimbatore (02.45/02.47), Erode (04.15/04.20), Salem (05.30/05.32), Bangarapet (08.43/08.45), Whitefield (09.30/09.31) and Krishnarajapuram (09.48/09.50).
Train No.16320 Banaswadi – Kochuveli Humsafar express (Bi-weekly) will leave Banaswadi at 19.00 hrs. on Fridays and Sundays to reach Kochuveli at 09.05 hrs. on Saturdays and Mondays.
Enroute, the train will stop at Krishnarajapuram (19.11 / 19.13 hrs.), Whitefield (19.21/19.22), Bangarapet (20.01/20.02), Salem (22.35/22.37), Erode (23.30/23.35), Coimbatore (01.00/01.02), Palakkad (02.07/02.10), Thrisur (03.08/03.10), Ernakulam Town (04.28/04.30), Kottayam (05.43/05.45), Chengannur (06.19/06.20) and Kollam (07.28/07.30).
The trains will have AC 3-tier coaches with Fire Detection System and CCTV cameras in each coach. GPS–based Information Display Board, more comfortable seats and Passenger Announcement System will also be available.
The regular service of Train No.16320 Banaswadi – Kochuveli (bi-weekly) Humsafar express will commence from Banaswadi on 21.10.2018, Sunday.
The regular service of Train No.16319 Kochuveli – Banaswadi (bi-weekly) Humsafar express will commence from Kochuveli on 25.10.2018, Thursday.
