

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
By January next year, Kerala will present a comprehensive Workation policy to tap into the potential of growing culture of blending work and vacation, said Tourism Minister P A Mohamed Riyas.
The Minister was speaking after presiding over a high-level meeting held here today to transform Kerala as the finest workation destination.
IT Department Special Secretary Seeram Sambasiva Rao, Tourism Director Sikha Surendran, K-Fon MD Dr. Santhosh Babu, Kerala Startup Mission CEO Anoop Ambika, representatives of Hotel and Resort Association, Internet Service providers, representatives from IT parks across Kerala, representatives of IT employee associations, and representatives of other government departments attended the meeting.
“Kerala Tourism Department has been taking various measures for the past four years to encourage workation tourism in the state,” said Riyas.
“To further establish Kerala as the best workation destination in India, we will look at the various factors that could enhance the workation experience including improvement of necessary amenities, internet connection, transport facilities etc,” said Riyas.
Kerala’s rich natural beauty coupled with our world class infrastructure can tap into the potential of workation culture and can further boost our advancements made in tourism sector, noted the Minister.
