Kavya Madhavan Approached High Court for Anticipatory Bail

Actress Kavya Madhavan, second wife of actor Dileep, who was arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a South Indian actress, moved the High Court for anticipatory bail.
The bail application moved through Advocate Raman Pillai will be considered by the court on Monday. The anticipatory bail application was filed following the possibility of an arrest when the investigation reaches the final stage. Kavya Madhavan in her bail application pointed out that she had cooperated with the investigation team during the probe. As part of the probe, police had called her several times, the application said.
Pulsar Suni the first accused in the case of plotting abduction and sexual assault revealed that the ‘Madam’ who is connected with the case is Kavya Madhavan. Suni made this revelation when he was brought before the Ernakulam CJM court in connection with another case. He told mediapersons that he had already told that the Madam he referred was Kavya Madhavan.
Earlier, Kavya had repeatedly denied having any known Suni. Kavya reportedly confessed to the police that Suni had called Dileep from her phone and that she had given Rs 25,000 to Suni as per the actor’s instructions.
Suni had said that it was the ‘madam’ who gave him the money to carry out the heinous crime. But he added that she was not the aware of the conspiracy to abduct and assault the young woman.
Earlier, Court directed filmmaker Nadhirshah to appear before the police for questioning on Friday (September 15). Police was not able to question him due to health reasons and admitted to a private hospital.
The anticipatory bail plea of Nadhirshah will be considered on September 18. Nadhirshah is a close friend of actor Dileep, who was remanded in police custody. He was questioned by police earlier in connection with the case.
In the anticipatory bail plea Nadhirshah said that he had no role in the attack. But following the latest revelation from Pulsar Suni that he received the money from Nadhirshah during a fim shooting at Thodupuzha. Police issued a notice to Nadhirshah to appear for questioning on September 6, but he got admitted to a hospital.
Earlier, Angamaly magistrate court extended the remand of actor Dileep to September 16. However, Dileep’s plea to attend the bali ritual for his father on September 6 was granted.
High Court said that prima facie there is evidence against Dileep in the case sheet will be completed soon. It is observed that the accused could influence the witnesses if he was granted bail.
When the bail plea came before the court on August 11, it was adjourned to August 18. The court had dismissed his earlier bail application on July 24 after finding that the probe into the case was progressing and the mobile phone, which the prosecution stated as a key evidence in the case, had not been recovered.
He was arrested by the police on July 10. Angamaly court extended the remand of Dileep till August 22, when he was produced before the court through video conferencing due to security reasons. Earlier, when Dileep was produced before the Angamaly magistrate court, the police had a hard time to control the public. Police requested the court for video conferencing and it was accepted.
