Jet Airways, India’s premier, full-service international airline, will celebrate Onam aboard its flights between Kerala and the Gulf on September 04, 2017, offering guests a choice of the festive Sadya meal.
The specially-crafted menu will be offered to all guests, flying Premiere and Economy, from Kerala. It will include a hot comprising of Mappas and Kal Appam, as a vegetarian option. For lunch and dinner, the airline will serve the traditional vegetarian meal of Avial/ Chamba Rice and Sambar.
Onam, Kerala’s biggest festival, is also its most colourful celebration. It begins on the special day called Thiruvonam which falls ten days before the harvest season commences in Kerala.
In line with Jet Airways’ “Guest First” philosophy the Onam feast will be an exceptional in-flight dining initiative, allowing guests to participate in the annual festival while aboard their flights.
Greeting the airline’s guests on the auspicious occasion, Jayaraj Shanmugam, Chief Commercial Officer, Jet Airways, said, “Onam enjoys a special place in the heart of everyone in Kerala. Our signature menu of the day is our way of making our guests feel at home while in the air.”
Jet Airways international flights from/to Kochi, Kozhikode, and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala connecting key destinations such as Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Dubai, Doha, Muscat and Sharjah in the Gulf will now have a refreshed in-flight menu comprising some of Kerala’s most popular dishes.
