NEW DELHI:
Air Marshal AP Singh, the Vice Chief of the Air Staff, reiterated the importance of ‘Aatmanirbharta’ (self-reliance) and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India) in the defense sector during his address on Friday. He stated that future weapons should be developed and manufactured within India.
Singh emphasized the need for India’s defense forces to navigate an increasingly aggressive and unconventional threat landscape. He highlighted ongoing collaborations with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), private industry, and emphasized the importance of an innovative approach to resource utilization and system upgrades.
Addressing geopolitical lessons, Singh stressed that India’s defense strategy should not rely on international alliances, urging a committed national effort to self-reliance. He appealed to all stakeholders, including DRDO and private industry, to collectively ensure India’s defense advancement without compromising national security.
