IIMK Programme Diversity Drives Successful Final Placement Season

Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode witnessed 100% placements within 3 days during the recently concluded Final Placements Week. This Placements season was a grand success with 100% placements for the 24th batch of flagship PGP Programme and the inaugural batches of the PGP- Finance (PGP-F) and PGP- Liberal Studies and Management (PGP-LSM). A total of 571 offers were rolled out by 116 companies reflecting the recruiters trust in an Institute which is ranked Top 4 as per NIRF 2021: Management Category, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. IIM Kozhikode celebrating its Silver Jubilee is also the lone IIM to be recognised as the 2nd most ‘Innovative’ Educational Institute among Institutes of National Importance, Central University & CFIs (Non-Technical) category, in India ARIIA Rankings 2021.

Announcing the successful wrap of Final Placements, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIM Kozhikode, said “The bouquet of PGP programmes at IIMK further strengthens the institute’s rich legacy of nurturing diverse talent pool. The comprehensive success of the placements season is driven by the trust of the recruiters in IIMK, the ever-reliable support from the global IIMK alumni footprint, and the students ability and training to fully capitalise on thegreen shoots of recovery in the hiring market.”
The average salary secured by the students stood at INR 29.5 LPA, an increase of 31.3% over last year, while the median salary secured is INR 26.50 LPA, an increase of 32.5% over last year. Out of the 546 students placed, 40 students each are from the PGP- F and PGP- LSM courses.

ABInBev, Accenture Strategy, Accenture Technology, Amazon, American Express, Asian Paints, Avendus Capital, Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Capgemini, Citi Bank, Credit Suisse, D.E. Shaw, Deloitte, Deutsche Bank, Everest Group, E&Y, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, Google, HUL, JPMorgan Chase & Co, Marico, Mahindra, McKinsey & Company, Microsoft, Nestle, Nomura, PayTM, Pidilite, PwC, RedSeer Consulting, Reliance, RPG, Samsung, Standard Chartered, Synergy Consulting, TATA Sky, TRMG, Uber, Walmart, Wipro, Yes Bank were amongst the major recruiters.

Adani Group, Clarivate, EY-Parthenon, Garena, Meesho, Merisis, Navi, Ola, PhonePe, Shopee, Swiggy, were among the 39 new recruiters who participated in the process this year.

In addition to the Conglomerates and MNCs, numerous startups like CityMall, Healthplix, Navi, OfBusiness, Porter, Rupeek, Udaan, Vernacular.ai and Zebpay have also recruited from the campus. The Placements season witnessed International Offers from companies like CarDekho, Omnibiz and Tolaram Group.

Around 41% of the offers were rolled out by the consulting cluster this season, which is a 58% increase from the last year. Some of the long-term collaborative recruiters in this domain that participated this time are Accenture Strategy, Accenture Technology, Bain & Company, BCG, Blue Yonder, Clarivate, Deloitte, Everest Group, EY, EY-Parthenon, Infosys, GEP, McKinsey & Company, Optum, PwC, RedSeer and Synergy Consulting.

The BFSI cluster also witnessed an impressive growth in opportunities offered at IIM Kozhikode. This year, 15% of the offers were made in the financial sector, with the majority of the offers being secured from reputed financial institutions including Bank of America, Citi Bank, Deutsche Bank, D.E. Shaw, Goldman Sachs, ICICI Bank, IDFC First Bank, J.P.Morgan Chase & Company, Nomura, State Street and Yes Bank. Multiple marquee recruiters like Avendus Capital, Bank of America, Equirus, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase & Company, Merisis and TRMG have offered Investment Banking roles.

Sales & Marketing witnessed 13% offers made from major recruiters such as ACT, Asian Paints, Bajaj Auto, Cipla, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, GSK, HUL, Indegene, Marico, Meesho, Myntra, Nestle, OfBusiness, Ola, Pidilite, Reckitt, RPG, Samsung, Tata Sky, Tolaram Group and Udaan showing their confidence in the institute’s talent pool.

The Information Technology & Analytics cluster contributed to 15% of the total offers from a combination of marquee recruiters and few niche recruiters like American Express, CarDekho, EXL Analytics, Google, Meesho, Microsoft, MXPlayer, Navi, Paytm, PhonePe, Publicis Sapient, Salesforce, Shopee, Vodafone India, Walmart Labs and Wipro.

The holistic pedagogy at IIM Kozhikode continues to be recognised by organizations with over 16% offers made for General Management and Operations roles. Some of the major recruiters in these domains are ABInBev, Adani Group, Amazon, Axis Bank, Capgemini, Flipkart, Garena, JSW, Mahindra, Ola, Porter, Reliance, RPG, Swiggy, and Uber.
