The inaugural batch of IIM Kozhikode’s Post Graduate Programme in Liberal Studies and Management (PGP-LSM) has launched the first edition of IIMKonvergence: The Knowledge Fest – a month-long celebration from December 7, 2020 to January 7, 2021 that offers a powerful mélange of competitions, workshops and performances.
IIMKonvergence presents students across undergraduate and postgraduate courses in India with an opportunity to challenge the status quo through competitions like Impacto- a business plan competition for budding social entrepreneurs; a myriad of thought-provoking literary events such as Transcending Times, Tale of Two Erasand Vista;as well as filmmaking and photography contests – Calico Talkiesand Spectrum.
Announcing the start of the month-long festival, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIM Kozhikodesaid, “In tune with PGP-LSM’s ethos, IIMKonvergence shall put to test the intelligence, emotional and creativity quotient of students and prompt them to view the world of management with a unique lens. This Festival will be a memorable and unique learning experience for all those who desire to be part of the next wave of change in the field of management.”
Yet another component of the festivities is a bouquet of captivating speaker sessions, beginning with an intriguing workshop on December 8, 2020 with Ms. Shreya Ramnath, a doctoral candidate in Sociology at Budapest’s Central European University. Ms. Ramnath set the tone for the fest with a deep dive into the characteristics of contemporary celebrations in the workshop titled Festivalization of Culture.
Over the course of the month, IIMKonvergence will be featuring a number of distinguished speakers including Mr. Parmesh Shahani, Head of the Godrej India Culture Lab and Abhijit Bhaduri, founder of Abhijit Bhaduri & Associates. In addition to expert sessions, the fest also presents an exclusive live performance with world renowned flute player, Pandit Ronu Majumdar as part of collaboration with the Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY).
