Contributing towards skill development of youth, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. today announced its second ITI-alliance in Tamil Nadu for uplifting educational standards of the students with industry specific technical skills.
Earlier this month, Honda inaugurated its first alliance in the state with ITI Chengalpattu, Chennai.Taking the initiative further, Honda in partnership with Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Madurai will empower local youth with technical knowledge and practical learning.
The MOU exchange with ITI Madurai was done in the august presence of C Ravichandran- Regional Joint Director of Training, Madurai, senior dignitaries of ITI Madurai and Honda 2Wheelers in the inauguration ceremony.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with Directorate of Training and Technical Education (DTTE) Tamil Nadu, Honda will provide units of two-wheelers to each institute. Additionally, the company will also set up ‘Honda Skill Enhancement Centre’in partnership with ITI. This will provide authentic platform to students for practising trade specific skills on various aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair.
Speaking on the tie-up, Pradeep Pandey, Senior Vice President, Customer Service, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said “Honda’s MoU with DTTE, Tamil Nadu is a step towards building the future of students striving to gain ndustry relevant skills. We inaugurated our ITI-tie up in Chennai earlier this month and now our alliance with ITI, Madurai takes us ahead towards Skill India Mission. In the longer run, the demand for technical skilled manpower is going to rise with the automotive industry on the threshold of a paradigm shift i.e. BS VI emission norms. This initiative of Honda will not just increase the educational standards of the students but also cater the industry with skilled manpower.”
In Tamil Nadu, the ITI-tie ups are expected to benefit over 350 students in a single year. On the completion of training, Honda will also provide recruitment opportunities to candidates at Honda dealerships.
