Kerala Blasters is proud to announce the signing of the Malayalee centre-forward, Madambillath Mohammed Rafi. Hailing from Kasaragod, Kerala, the 183 cm tall player started his professional football career with the SBT in 2004.
Further, Rafi emerged as the Mahindra United’s player of the year in 2009-10 I League, with the best ever Indian strike record of 14 goals in the season. Rafi, who is popular for his header goals, entered the ISL journey with ATK and later played for Kerala Blasters FC and Chennaiyin FC. He bagged the title of the ISL Emerging player of the year in 2015. The Malayali striker has also been a part of other football clubs like Churchill Brothers, Mumbai FC, DSK Shivajians and Mumbai Tigers.
“I’m extremely happy to be joining Kerala Blasters after two years. It is an honour to represent the home team along with a talented squad for Season 6 of the Indian Super League. The only objective now is to bring the ISL cup Home and for the same I will give in my 100 percent on and off the pitch. I am also eagerly looking forward to witness the ever supportive and loud crowd make our home stadium a yellow fortress once again.” says Rafi.
