Goa’s First Horse Riding Academy Inaugurated at Sunshine Worldwide School

Old Goa based Sunshine Worldwide School one of the premier educational institutes in the state launched Goa’s first Horse Riding Academy. The Sunshine Zippy Horse Riding Academy was inaugurated earlier today by Chief Guest, Sidharth Kuncalienkar, Vice Chairman GSIDC and Ex MLA Panaji at the Sunshine Worldwide School Campus in Bainguinim, Old Goa. Beginning this month, one can opt to choose from horse riding classes in three different modules.

The inauguration marked another milestone in Sunshine’s journey to a top education center in Goa. The academy is open to all above the age of six for enrolment. Expert trainers from Bangalore will conduct a workshop on horse riding at the school grounds on 2nd and 4th of December between 8:00am and 11:00am in the morning and 4:00pm and 7:00pm in the evening for interested students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Abhay Mathur, Principal, Sunshine Worldwide School, said, “Children are very engaged and subdued by the digital world. We keep telling them to engage in outdoor activities like go for a run or climb trees or even look at birds. It is not going to happen, we have to create those opportunities for children. When we were growing up, we didn’t have digital distractions. Today we have to make a conscious effort. If we have exciting activities like horse riding and we as a school organize these activities which are safe and parents feel comfortable enrolling their children, then we’re doing the right thing with regards to children’s interaction with nature.”
Added Deepak Khaitan, Founder, Sunshine Worldwide School, “We have been pioneers in many ways in Goa. Another new for Sunshine Worldwide School is the Sunshine Zippy Horse Riding Academy. We will make you competent in riding not to race or gallop but be competent in riding to enjoy it.”
The official horse riding training batches will start from the 5th of December 2017. The academy will offer Horse Riding courses in three different modules. The first module includes 20 lessons, the second module includes 15 lessons and the third module consists of 10 lessons. The batches will be split into weekday (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) and weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and will be held in the early morning and evenings.
