Gandhibhavan International Trust Won K Chittilappilly Foundation’s Award

KOCHI:
Gandhibhavan International Trust, Pathanapuram won the award for excellence in social service, given by K Chittilappilly Foundation for the individuals and institutions who have contributed to charity and social service initiatives.
Dr. Punaloor Somarajan, director of the trust, received the award amount of Rs. 2 lakh and certificate of appreciation. The award for best social worker, worth Rs. 1 lakh and certificate of appreciation, was achieved by M.J Stephen, director of snehabhavan, Arayangad, Kannur.
Individual merit awards for excellence in social service was given to M.X. Judson, Yasar M Pareeth,Shibu Peter, Shaju Aalukkaran, Ralfy P.T, Philip Mambad and Mahesh Chithravarnam, Sister Paasi SABS and Dr. Jerry Joseph. In the institution category, Hope, Kannur, Little flower mercy home, Idukki, S S Samithi Abhayabhavan, Kollam, Amma, Thrissur, Welfare association trust, Ernakulum, Karunalayam, Ernakulum, Santhwanam Charitable Society, Alappuzha, Mahila Kalyan manj- jeeva, Ernakulum, Snehatheeram Palliative Care Centre, Palakkad, Abhayabhavan, Trivandrum, Adhvana Vihitha Jeevakarunya Pravarthana Fund, Alappuzha, Charitable Society for the Welfare of the Disabled Ernakulum and Famous Arts and Sports Club, Malappuram won merit awards. Dr. K.N Paniker, A.C Joy, Dr. Vijayakumar, Sreyas and Sahradhaya Welfare Services won special jury awards.
Chairman of the foundation Kochauseph Chittilappilly distributed the awards in the ceremony held at Renai Hotel, Kochi. Motorized wheelchairs were given to 8 artists suffering from physical challenges given in the ceremony.
The winners, both individual and institution, were selected from more than 200 nominations from all over the state. K Vijayan, Joint MD of K Chittilappilly foundation, Dr. George Sleeba, executive director of K Chittilappilly foundation and Jacob Kuruvila, director of K Chittilappilly foundation will attend the ceremony.
