PANJIM:
Goa is known to be one of the biggest footballing hubs in the country and with the advent of the Indian Super League, the sport has risen to new heights.
FC Goa, the state’s representative in the ISL has constantly strived to develop the sport from the grass root level and as such, has organized a number of events in a bid to further this aim. However, one of the biggest aspects with regard to football is coaching.
The role of a football coach in the career of a player is vital and this makes it even more important to have good coaches to train children. FC Goa has committed itself to promoting Coach Education and enhancing the quality of coaches across Goa and for this purpose, the club will organize and fully sponsor two coaching courses in Goa in February.
A FIFA Grassroots Leaders Course will be organized in mid-February with a tentative date of 13th -15th. This course will aim to enhance the leadership skills of coaches.
The club will also host an AIFF D-licence course which has been tentatively planned between the 17th to the 21st of February. Both courses will be free of charge for those who are selected to participate in the programmes.
There are a limited number of entries/seats as well for either course. Candidates interested in taking part in either of the courses can collect application forms from the FC Goa offices in Porvorim and at Fatorda. The forms can be filled and emailed to curcino.sanchez@fcgoa.in.
