Dietitians have inevitable role in the health care sector of the state and their involvement can reduce life style diseases to an extent, said district collector Muhammad Y Safeerulla. He was inaugurating the Association for Evidence based Dietetics and Nutrition (AEDAN), formed in order to unite all dietitians in the district.
The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Mumthaz Khalid Ismail, president, AEDAN, and Dr. Anitha Mohan, Clinical Nutritionist & Program coordinator State Food Safety Department, delivered the keynote address. “The new association will conduct awareness programs, camps, education programs for dietitians and set platform to present new studies in the field.” said Sindhu S, Secretary, AEDAN. Dr. Varghese Cheriyan, president IMA, Dr. Betty Rani Issac, Home Science department Head at St. Theresa’s College, Anu Sacaria, vice president, AEDAN, and Susan Itty, treasurer participated in the ceremony.
