Delegation of 14 US University Representatives Visit Kochi

KOCHI:
Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR) hosted a delegation of 14 representatives from universities across the US at its office on Thursday. The delegation was in India under the auspices of the Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators Program (FN-IEA), which provides opportunities for US university administrators to meet Indian universities and other private-sector agencies to understand the Indian higher education system, familiarise themselves with courses offered in India, research capability, quality assurance procedures and evaluation patterns.
Dr D Dhanuraj (Chairperson, CPPR) delivered a presentation on the organisation profile, areas of research and international collaborations of CPPR. This was followed by an interactive session and focus group discussions on ‘The Way Forward: Future Prospects for Collaboration’.
The programme helped the visiting delegation learn about policies, planning and administration of higher education in India. The delegation will also visit Delhi and Coimbatore during their India tour from March 10 to 25, 2018. The tour will help them connect with key people and explore collaboration possibilities, which could include study abroad programmes for American students in India, faculty and student exchanges, and developing new curriculum. The visit will also offer them a glimpse into the social and cultural facets of India.
