KOCHI:
CC Zero Waste Pvt Ltd, an initiative of CREDAI Kochi, is the leading Municipal Solid Waste Management agency in Kerala. CCC Zero Waste is the Authorized Service provider for Suchitwa Mission, Govt of Kerala, is an approved agency of Kerala State Pollution Control Board and have also
tied up with KEIL for biomedical waste disposal. We promote decentralized waste management at source, predominantly at high rise apartment complexes.
CCC Zero Waste gives waste management services to over 550 apartment complexes spread across Kerala, of which over 120 are in Kochi Corporation limits, and over 300 in Kochi’s neighboring municipalities / panchayats and rest in other cities. Today, there are about 29818 households who enjoy the services of CCC Zero Waste Pvt Ltd. We manage over 300 Tons of biodegradable waste and 50 Tons of non-biodegradable waste in a month from 18 cities.
A 3 bucket segregation system is implemented at all the apartments, where Green bucket is for Kitchen/food waste, Blue for non-biodegradable waste and Red for biomedical waste. The food waste is further segregated and processed in the Eco Composter bins by applying organic bio-
culture. Aerobic composting system is followed in Eco Composter bins to convert the waste into organic compost. It takes about 30 days for the food waste to get converted into organic compost.
This Compost can be used for gardening or landscaping etc. A pair of Eco Composter bin is ideal for 35-40 flats. CCC Zero Waste also has an automatic Organic Waste Converter that comes in different capacities. The OWC runs on power and hence processing is faster and takes about 16-18 hours only for the food waste to get converted into soil supplement.
CCC zero waste ensures complete and proper waste processing of biodegradable and non- biodegradable waste till the end-of-life cycle, thereby no waste is dumped anywhere. Our experienced supervisors visit the apartment complexes regularly to ensure the composting
process is followed properly. They conduct awareness programs, educate the residents and train the workers, as and when needed. Supervisors also train the workers and closely monitor the composting process.
The non-biodegradable waste and the processed compost is removed from the apartments on a regular frequency and brought to a common sorting center. The non-biodegradable waste is then sorted into various categories and sent for recycling. The rejects are sent to cement kilns for co- processing as alternate fuel. This whole activity has generated employment for over 835 women from economically weaker community.
We charge a nominal monthly service charge that includes supervision, removal and transportation of compost and non-biodegradable waste and its proper disposal.
