KOCHI:
The Confederation of Real Estate Developers of India, CREDAI, in association with the Sacred Heart College, Thevara, Kochi, launched a pioneering programme called ‘Swasth Bharat”.
The inaugural function was held in the Sacred College grounds on 29 Aug 18, on the occasion of the National sports day, to roll out this ambitious programme. The programme, under the overarching guidance of CREDAI, would soon be rolled out in thousands of schools and colleges countrywide across 200 cities and towns, where CREDAI has its presence and is expected to be a game changer towards generating a collective consciousness about physical and mental well being.
Swasth Bharat, as the name implies, aims to promote physical fitness amongst the youth in various colleges and schools by promoting a wide bouquet of physical activities like running, cycling, swimming, yoga etc. The programme also incorporates an inherent assessment capability to objectively measure the effectiveness of the endeavour.
Most importantly, the catalyst in spreading this movement countrywide would be CREDAI. According to the official sources CREDAI, with about 12000 members in its rolls across the country, aims to launch, monitor and support the programme across the nation in a phased manner in a span of two years.
The program was inaugurated by Commander Rajesh Ramkumar in the presence of the chairman of CREDAI Kerala, Dr. Najeeb Zackeria, Rev Dr. Prashanth Palakackappillil, the Principal and Chairman SH college, the HOD Physical Education dept Dr Raju KA, Olympian Mercykuttan, international footballer C C Jacob, Arjuna awardee George Thomas, Ex Indian cricketer Tinu Yohannan, other sports persons and eminent dignitaries.
