THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The city-based Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA) will organize a Seminar on ‘Pollution Reduction for Combating Climate Change’ as part of the World Environment Day 2019 Celebrations on 20th June 2019.
The Dept. of Aquatic Biology and Fisheries, University of Kerala, Karyavattom, will be the venue for the event. The event will be held in association with Dept. of Aquatic Biology and Fisheries, University of Kerala. The Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) will support the event.
The registration for the programme will begin at 9.30 am. The inaugural function for the event will be followed by a technical session. Dr. Katharine A Owens, Associate Professor, University of Hartford, USA & Fulbright Nehru Fellow, University of Kerala, will enlighten the audience on the topic Marine Debris.
The topic Air Pollution – Status and Challenges will be presented by Dileepkumar, Former Engineer, Kerala State Pollution Control. Dr. Sureshkumar C, Consultant, Govt. Taluk Hospital, Parassala and General Secretary, CISSA will talk on Air Pollution and Human Health, while Suresh Babu B.V, Accredited Energy Auditor, BEE, Govt. of India, will talk on Energy Audit in Academic Institutions. An Inter Collegiate Quiz on Environment will also be conducted as part of the event.
