THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
As part of the Earth Day 2017 celebrations, the Thiruvananthapuram-based Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA), in collaboration with Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, will organise a quiz competition for school students of the Primary, Secondary and Senior Secondary levels on Apr
quiz competition will be conducted at the Gandhi Bhavan, in Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram.
The winners of each category will be awarded a cash prize and a certificate. Participating the schools can send a team consisting of two students in each category.
Of the total participating teams, five teams from each category will be selected for the quiz competition based on a written examination. The competition will be conducted separately for each categories by eminent quiz masters.
Registrations will start at 1.00 pm and the written examination will start at 1.30 pm. After the screening of candidates, the quiz competition will get underway at 2.15 pm.
Schools have been requested to select one team each from each category for the quiz competition. A letter from the schools confirming the participation of their students need to be mailed to cissaindia@gmail.com before 27th April 2017. More details can be had @ 9895375211.
A public lecture on the theme ‘Sustainable Earth’ by eminent scientist Dr E Kunhikrishnan on his recent expedition to Antarctica, will also be organised at 4.00 pm April 28 at the Gandhi Bhavan.
