BeFirst Aster Medcity Introduces Special Initiative to Handle Medical Emergencies

‘BeFirst, To Aid and Save Lives,’ an awareness initiative of Aster Medcity to train common people on various aspects of medical emergencies launched at St.Xavier’s College for Women, Aluva. The event was inaugurated by Usha Bindu Mol K, Deputy Collector Ernakulam.

The objective of this initiative is to sensitize and enable people to recognize and respond to medical emergency situations accurately at the right time. Dr. Johnson K Varghese Consultant – Emergency Physician of Medcity led the classes on First Aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

During the year-long BeFirst campaign, Aster Medcity will reach out to different sections of society in order to ensure maximum participation and engagement in saving lives. College students, Ngos’s, Kudumbasree, NCC cadets, Police, Traffic Police, etc will join the program in the coming days.

“There is nothing more glorious than saving someone’s life. I am delighted to be a part of BeFirst awareness program led by Aster Medcity with the aim of educating people in medical emergencies,” said Usha Bindu Mol K, Deputy Collector, Ernakulam.

“ Often, bystanders have no idea what to do when someone collapses quickly in front of them, leading to the loss of a lot of lives. But we can save those precious lives if we know some simple steps that anyone can do at the right time. It’s everyone’s duty to be familiar with such life-saving tips on this Independence Day,” added Dr. Johnson.

Dr. T . R. John, Medical Affairs Director-Aster Medcity, Anjali Parameswaran , Hazard Analyst- Kerala State Disaster Management Authority, Dr. Milon Franz, Principal- St. Xavier’s College for Women, Aluva also attended the function. Students of the college performed flashmob to spread awareness.
