The second day of national meet of naturopaths and the proponents of natural living’ Nature Life National Sammelan 2018’ witnessed the support of five allopathy doctors from various sectors.
Gandhiji’s great-grandson and diabetologist Dr Anand Gokani, Dr P Gopalakrishnan from Manjali Medical College, Dr M K Taneja from Delhi, Dr Eliamma George from Kollam and Dr A R Manjula from Bengaluru participated at the meet to extend their support for the national meet. Dr Anand Gokani expressed his disagreement with the allopathy doctors who are not ready to accept the naturopathy treatment methods.
According to Gokani, Naturopathy is a living style rather than scientific treatment. He was speaking on ‘Naturopathy from a modern medical perspective’. Naturopathy is linked to various living conditions of people.
He pointed that lifestyle diseases like diabetes are a result of consuming wrong food. Gandhiji used to have uncooked food as the cooked food will not have vitamins and minerals, he said.
Gokani said that milk, all purpose flour, sugar and salt are white poisons. Though some disagreed that milk is poisonous, he said that his experienced proved that milk will invite diseases which contains high level of proteins which are needed for animals.
He said that though naturopathy helps to check diseases and people have to depend on modern medicines if they meet with an accident. Allopathy and naturopathy should function jointly, he added.
BJP State president Kummanm Rajashekaran said that naturopathy is connected with the day to day activities of people. It is experienced by everyone and it is real, he said.
The speech of Kumman was translated to English by Simon Britto, a left sympathiser. Dr V S Vijayan, Lakshmidas Bhai, Thayatthu Balan, Shambu Namboothiri and Dr M C Soumya spoke.
More than 500 leading naturopathy experts and traditional medicine practitioners from India participated at the meet which focused on the paradigm shifts in modern medical practices and treatment, the relevance of naturopathy and alternative medicine.
