

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Alliance Française de Trivandrum in partnership with the Embassy of France in India and the Institut Français India presents, ‘Stories Bloom’ an Art Exhibition By Le Gentil Garçon at Alliance Française de Trivandrum from February 7 to March , 2020.
Stories Bloom at Trivandrum is a part of the residency program launched in 2020 by Alliance Française de Trivandrum, that aims to offer the French artists a space to create new artworks in India. Le Gentil Garçon will also exhibit his artworks at Pepper House Kochi in association with the Kochi Biennale Foundation.
After studying the physical sciences and mathematics, Le Gentil Garçon (The Nice Guy) joined a school of applied art. He has an artistic practice since 1998, year since which he works exclusively under his nickname. Today his work is shown internationally and since 2006, he has been chosen several times to design artworks for public art commissions.
Le Gentil Garçon, uses many media: drawing, sculpture, installation, architecture, performance, book, video and animation. This claimed eclecticism is visible in his study subjects and in his references, as well as in the creative processes he imagines.
He materializes ideas in forms readily identifiable at first glance, which offer several levels of understanding. He considers himself above all as a sculptor. His relations to volume and space are essential in his way of conceiving his artworks, even for editorial projects or for the making of his films.
