The Association of Direct Selling Entities of India (ADSEI) proudly participated in a pivotal event hosted by the Department of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Government of Kerala. This milestone event, held at the Central Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram, on February 19, marked a transformative moment for the Direct Selling industry with the release of comprehensive guidelines and a dedicated monitoring mechanism aimed at ensuring ethical business practices and consumer protection. The launch also featured the introduction of a dedicated website and awareness videos to promote transparency and accountability in the sector.
Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister of Kerala, inaugurated the event, while G.R. Anil, Minister of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the government’s commitment to fostering a fair and consumer-centric Direct Selling ecosystem. Other esteemed dignitaries present included K.N. Balagopal, Minister for Finance, and V. Sivankutty, Minister for Labour & General Education, among others.
Ajay Suri, Treasurer of ADSEI, quoted “This event is another significant step in strengthening the Direct Selling industry and is a demonstration to the state’s proactive approach. The release of these guidelines and the establishment of a monitoring mechanism are commendable steps taken by the Government of Kerala. These initiatives will ensure transparency, accountability, and consumer protection in the Direct Selling industry. ADSEI has always been at the vanguard of promoting ethical practices and self-regulation within the sector, and we are delighted to support the government’s efforts in creating a fair and sustainable business environment. This will not only protect consumers but also empower legitimate direct selling businesses to grow and contribute to the economy.”
