AGARTALA:
Incidents of crime along the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura have witnessed a significant decline, according to local residents who shared their observations with top Border Security Force (BSF) officials during a recent visit.
Senior BSF officials, who were on an inspection tour of border areas, interacted with villagers and community representatives to assess the prevailing security situation. Residents expressed their satisfaction with the enhanced vigilance by BSF personnel, attributing the drop in criminal activities such as smuggling, illegal crossings, and other border-related offences to increased patrolling and stricter enforcement measures.
Sources in the BSF confirmed that various proactive initiatives, including night surveillance, intelligence-based operations, and coordination with local law enforcement agencies, have contributed to the improved security scenario. “We have intensified our efforts to curb trans-border crimes, and the cooperation of locals has played a crucial role in ensuring a safer environment,” a senior BSF officer said.
Meanwhile, officials reiterated their commitment to maintaining strict vigil along the border, ensuring that any attempts to disrupt law and order are swiftly dealt with.
Residents, while appreciating the efforts of the security forces, also urged authorities to continue their developmental initiatives to further strengthen border infrastructure and boost economic opportunities in the region.
