KOCHI: UST GOAL, the signature inter-company football championship organized by the digital transformation solutions company UST, commenced at the Kochi Infopark on January 8, 2025. Into its eighth edition, UST GOAL Kochi 2025 is conducted in association with Infopark, as part of Infopark’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
The inter-company football tournament, which will be played at the Sanskara School Ground, Infopark Phase 2, will bring together Kochi’s technology community in a celebration of sportsmanship and athletic excellence. As many as 68 teams from 45 companies will compete across 117 matches over a period of three weeks. The tournament will witness matches in the Men’s, Women’s, and Masters’ categories.
In the Men’s category, 9-a-side teams will vie with each other for the trophy, while the Women’s category matches will be between 5-a-side teams. The Masters’ category will see matches between 7-a-side teams. The Men’s matches began on January 6, 2025, while the Women’s and Masters’ matches began on January 9, 2025. The final matches will be played on January 23, 2025.
Teams participating in the three-week-long UST GOAL tourney will be from companies at Kochi Infopark, Koratty Infopark, and the Smart City.
The UST GOAL tournament began at the Thiruvananthapuram Technopark, in 2007, and later in 2012, started its Kochi edition. UST GOAL has, over the years, evolved and adapted itself while maintaining its core mission of promoting sports culture within the corporate community. Last edition of UST GOAL in Kochi saw the participation of 32 teams in the Men’s category, 12 in the Women’s category, and 5 in the Masters’ category.
The inaugural ceremony of UST GOAL was attended by Sunil Balakrishnan, Chief Values Officer and Global Head – Center Operations, UST; Susanth Kurunthil, Chief Executive Officer, Infoparks Kerala, and other dignitaries.
