IRCTC Air, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation’s innovative Android app for simple and fast booking of flight tickets, has been named the best mobile app in the travel category.
It won Gold in the category at the Drivers of Digital (DOD) instituted by the business intelligence gr
“We are honoured to receive the award and proud of the Air app we have developed in-house and have made available for passengers round the clock. Travellers can easily find the cheapest flights to destinations within India and abroad, and make their bookings in easy, simple steps,” he said.
IRCTC Air, which can be downloaded from Google Playstore was launched in June this year and allows users to just swipe and shuffle through options, select their flights and make the booking.
Passengers can use their existing IRCTC’s login credentials for the app, have their flight searches and booking history stored for easy retrieval, and book LTC tickets for holidays.
There are multiple payment options and there are no additional convenience and processing fee on bookings. IRCTC also offers lower cancellation charges and credit card payment fees than other air travel websites, besides 24X7 customer support.
The DOD awards recognise contributions of individuals, groups and enterprises across different sectors of the industry to digital growth in India.
