3 Sentenced to Death for Telangana Woman’s Rape, Murder

HYDERABAD:
A special court in Telangana on Thursday sentenced to death three convicts within two months of raping and murdering a woman in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.

The court in Adilabad town pronounced its judgment in what is known as Samatha gang rape and murder case. A 30-year-old woman, who used to sell balloons and utensils, was sexually assaulted and killed by the three men on November 24 last year at Ellapatar village.

The victim was named Samatha by the police to protect her identity. Sheikh Babu, Sheikh Shahabuddin and Sheikh Makhdoom were arrested by the police on November 27, 2019.
